Antony Mayfield

Antony Mayfield is a strategic consultant, author and commentator on the web in business, society and culture.

In 2006, he founded the content and social media teams at iCrossing, which became the largest independent digital marketing firm in the world, before being sold to Hearst Media in 2010. Prior to iCrossing, Antony spent a decade in journalism and corporate communications, most recently as a director in the Bell Pottinger Group.

He is the author of the best-selling book on how to manage personal reputation online, Me and My Web Shadow, which has been published in several countries by Bloomsbury.

He has also written a number of e-books, the most well-known of which, What is Social Media? has been downloaded tens of thousands of times, placed on reading lists for top business schools and translated into Chinese.

Antony is a committed advocate of spreading digital literacy – knowledge and skills about how to use the internet better – in businesses and in wider society. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, he also serves a Trustee of Citizens Online, a UK charity which campaigns for internet access as a fundamental human right.

Jason Ryan

One of the UK’s leading digital strategy planners, Jason has over a decade and a half of experience in online media. He is a creative and strategic thinker with solid commercial, project management and production skills.

Prior to becoming a founding partner of Brilliant Noise, Jason led the strategy and planning practice at iCrossing UK. In recent years he has designed and coordinated digital media, UX, social media and content strategies for clients including Porsche, Barclays, Chelsea FC, M&S, Visit Wales, WorldVision, Warwick University and Roche.

He developed many innovative models for planning and evaluation, including the social engagement measurement framework, which has evolved into an industry standard approach. His evaluation work for Channel 4 was profiled in a Forrester case study and is still regarded as a benchmark project by many industry commentators.

Before iCrossing, Jason was Production Director at Cogapp, responsible for digital strategy, creative and technical project direction and planning; user experience design; technical, functional and design specifications; and conceptual, structural, and visual design. He has also provided strategic digital consultancy for the Home Office, Houses of Parliament, British Library, British Museum, MoMA New York and the Jewish Museum, New York.
